SGCC features tree-lined fairways and small undulating greens. The current layout preserves 7 holes from the original William Kinnear layout. Recently renovated holes by Ian Andrew are designed to maintain the original character of the Kinnear design. SGCC is home to an expansive practice facility that includes multiple short game areas, double ended driving range, and full-sized 3-hole practice course.

The dining area is open to members and guests throughout the golf season. Two outside decks provide scenic views of the course. Menus feature a mix of favourites and seasonal offerings, with a curated selection of wines, local beers, and cocktails. Multiple banquet space options provide a welcoming setting for events of all sizes, from small meetings to larger gatherings and celebrations.
