GOLF

The Saskatoon Golf and Country Club is a woodlands layout with challenging greens and tree lined fairways. Four sets of tees appeal to all skill levels. The current location was originally designed by Bill Kinnear in 1931 and remodeled by Ian Andrew in 2009. The course features small undulating greens to challenge the player. Strategic positioning and shot making are essential. The often heard “don’t be above the hole” rings true for most greens. The facility plays from 6918 yds to 5415 yds, with four sets of tees:

Championship (Black) (73.6/133)
Back (Blue)(71.3/127)
Middle (White) (69.5/122)
Forward (Red) (70.7/126)

The SGCC is host to one of the finest practice facilities in Western Canada. The focal point is the 40 acre driving range, which has 6 target greens, a 10 acre double-ended tee teeing area and is equipped with consistent practice balls. A  short game area is also available for pitching, chipping and sand play including a large practice green, convenient to the clubhouse, available for improvement of your putting skills.

The 3-Hole Course is unique in the area and has 3 full holes (Par 3, Par 4 and Par 5), which can be used to simulate a short game or for a short walk during lunch. It is rarely full to capacicty allowing you to play as many holes as you wish. It is also open for family and beginners (limited times) and allows a taste of the game in small doses, without the cost or intimidation of a full course.

Instruction is availalbe from Brennen Gee our Head Professional, or Sloane Harder our Associate Professional. Our General Manager McLaren Taylor is also a PGA of Canada Member, assisting with private lessons and junior clinics.
