It’s been a smooth start to the 2025 Season with great weather and exceptional course conditions for this time of year. Kudos to Terry and his staff for getting the course uncovered and cleaned up last week. It’s a lot of work each spring, and a little more in recent years with Poplar Tree removal. Greens are now being cut every day, and next week the grounds crew will shift from general clean-up to spring bunker care and sand depth checks.
The course opened Saturday with over 440 rounds played on opening weekend. Tee sheets so far have been fuller on the weekends, and on weekdays there seems to be plenty of space for day-before and day-of-play bookings. That said, we haven't had any lottery requests to date that could not be place somewhere on the tee sheet, as draws are now posted through Thursday next week.
Tee-times today though Thursday start at 7am, with 6am tee times scheduled to start on Friday May 9th.
The Driving Range is open each night until dusk (sunset) except Monday it closes at 7pm for a clean pick. The range opens 30-minutes before the first tee-time except on Tuesdays and Fridays opening is delayed until the mowers are finished. On a typical Tuesday/Friday morning, space will be provided for members with early times to warm-up on front of the range, provided there is no other maintenance issue.
Congratulations to Jim Hauberg on the FIRST HOLE-IN-ONE of the year, April 29th on Hole #15. Thanks, Jim, for getting us started. Members who get a hole-in-one receive a Yeti Tumbler engraved with their name and the date of their hole-in-one. In addition, they receive $150 in general account credit to offset the cost of celebrations.

General SGCC Reminders:
- Remember to cancel any tee-time (whole or individual spot) can't play.
- On the course, remember that as a Member, you should always leave the course in the same, or better condition than you found it. This was the direction I received as a junior Member many years ago. This includes fixing your ball marks and divots, and any that might have been inadvertently missed by other members. And of course, raking bunkers is not optional. That's part of leaving the course in the same, or better condition for others.
Have a Great Weekend
