With course opening set for tomorrow morning, it certainly feels different around the club today. It might be the 23-degree temperature…and we’ll take it.
It didn’t look promising on Wednesday morning, as the grounds crew was seen pushing snow off the 12th green. Less then 36 hours later, they cut the same green with snow still melting on the back fringe. I always say that every golf course opening is a little different one way or another.
Some updates on opening day tomorrow:
- Power Carts will be available
- Bathrooms will be open
- Most of the course amenities will be in place like benches and ball washers
- There will be some sand (divot mix) in the power cart bottles, but we are waiting on delivery to fill all the sand bottles and sand bins
- The Range opens at 7:30am but only on matts until further notice.
- Matts space is limited at the range as 4-5 matts will be reserved for members with tee-times, leaving 10 or 11 spots at the driving range.
- Family range privileges are not available at this time
- We appreciate your patience.
- The Practice Loop and all practice greens are open
Saturday and Sunday’s tee sheets filled up quickly with the lottery draw at noon today. Every group received a time, but some tee-times are far from what was requested. As a reminder, the system no longer asks for an “earliest” and “latest” window. All requests are given a time whenever times are still available. If you cannot play at the time you received, remember to cancel to avoid being assessed points that will affect future draws.
Members will enjoy new benches and new flags this year. In time there will be new flagsticks with rangefinder prisms and new set of logo tee-markers. Production delays are holding those up for another week or two.
Paving projects will begin sometime next week, weather permitting. The scope of work for now is to widen the cart path behind the 18th green and install a new asphalt path at the 18th tee. If pavers can make it to the 5th hole, some work will be done to fix the roots. Otherwise, we will address those as soon as we can.
